Hope in Flight

Welcome to Angel Flight East, a volunteer pilot organization, coordinating free air transportation for qualified people whose medical needs of evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment can only be met by health care facilities far from their homes. We help children and adults who experience potentially life-threatening illnesses.

Angel Flight East can provide a travel option to patients who aren’t able to withstand long distance travel by auto, rail, or bus. Transport in the smaller general aviation aircraft of Angel Flight East pilots can also better accommodate patients whose condition could worsen if exposed to the re-circulated air on commercial aircraft. The challenges of fighting a serious life-threatening illness may have depleted a family’s life savings and limit their options. We believe that no one should go without the necessary treatment they need.

Angel Flight East provides medical air transportation from Maine, south to the Carolinas, and west to Ohio.

We facilitate Compassion Flights when there is a compelling personal crisis, such as visiting a terminally ill family member at a hospice far from home.

We also are ready to respond in times of disaster or catastrophe too. We were there … after the 9/11 terrorist attack on the World Trade Center and after Hurricanes Katrina and Rita swept through the Gulf Coast.

The mission of Angel Flight East is to provide free air transportation to qualified patients & their families by arranging flights to distant medical facilities, delivering supplies to disaster areas and reuniting families during desperate times.

This community service is directly available to connect individuals to medical providers and health care organizations throughout the eastern states.
