Hope in Flight

Angel Flight East is a non-profit 501(c)3 organization dedicated to the needs of people with limited resources who must travel great distances for their critical medical care. We accomplish this with a corps of dedicated volunteers who step up and meet the needs of people with qualified requests for service. Our service demographic are individuals and families with challenging medical conditions where local treatment does not meet their needs.

Our volunteer pilots will offer their time and most importantly their private planes to fly our patients to their destinations. These men and women will pick up all necessary flight expenses for each flight request they accept and will carry out that mission with compassion, skill and professionalism.

We are a small dedicated staff who match incoming requests with our roster of volunteer pilots to get the patient to their destination. Ground based volunteers, we call "Earth Angels" help us out with administrative tasks, events, and office support to keep Angel Flight a trim and efficient organization.

Our offices are currently housed at Historic Wings Field in Montgomery County Pennsylvania, right next to the farmhouse where in 1939 the Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association was founded (that historic farmhouse now houses the Philadelphia Aviation Country Club).

The mission of Angel Flight East is to provide free air transportation to qualified patients and their families by arranging flights to distant medical facilities, delivering supplies to disaster areas and reuniting families during desperate times.
